Description

Bank ABC wishes to recruit a Digital Cash Management Product Owner within our Wholesale Banking Transformation Department.

The Product Owner for Cash Management Digital Initiatives will lead the deployment of our digital Cash & Liquidity Management value proposition as part of the WB Digital Transformation program. S/he is expected to bring in deep domain and product expertise across Cash management & Liquidity management. The role reports into the Group Head of GTB. We are looking for a candidate who has experience managing a robust payments platform at a regional/ global bank and who has a market experience as well as customer exposure

Responsibilities

Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of Role:

Reporting to the Group Head of Transaction Banking the job holder will:

  • The role will have the following key responsibilities:
  • to manage payments, virtual accounts, collections, account services, and liquidity management product set
  • Develop a strong cash management product offering; optimizing electronic channels. Introduce product innovation and train all user groups.
  • Define product strategy and product roadmap to ensure a quick implementation process using project management disciplines
  • Responsible for client implementation process and onboarding including entitlements
  • Be an subject matter expert on cash products and report competitors developments and product positioning in the market
  • Ability to develop a strong relationship with the sales force, operations, and technology partners
  • To lead the end to end design, build and implementation of digitizing all CM products – Payments, Collections, Liabilities, Liquidity Management, Digital Channels etc.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to analyze the needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals
  • Own the CM digital product roadmap. Develop scope and define Product Backlog items (epic / features / stories)
  • Managing and partnering with chosen vendor(s) in rolling-out a CM digital front-end platform as per the TB digitization strategy and operating model
  • Co-innovating with clients to understand how the bank can leapfrog the competition in terms of CM product functionality and client experience
  • Collaborate with the Head of WB/TB Digital client experience to ensure CM leapfrogging MVPs are aligned to the overarching TB Digital experience strategy
  • Collaborate with internal CM Subject Matters Experts and stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of the Product and / or proposition rollout
  • Working with business SMEs and other team members, develop Product parameters and risk acceptance criteria, including Credit Risk, Compliance, Cyber Risk and Legal / Tax
  • Lead setting, prioritizing, and accepting the work generated by an agile team in order to ensure the most valuable and proper functionality of the product
  • Communicating with stakeholders related to the CM initiatives, including customers, business managers and the development team to make sure the product goals are clear, and the vision is aligned with business objectives.
  • Set Sprint Goals and own the Product Roadmap, Sprints Plans and Backlog. Schedule releases and coordinate sprints. Work along with the Scrum Master and Development team to manage iterative product releases
  • Accountable for the created product(s), delivering the value proposition
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of the Product being developed and end-to-end customer journeys and cross dependencies
  • Research and analyze market, industry trends, technologies and disruptors, and feed that back into the product backlog as relevant
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum and digital product management best practices and new trends, Refine Agile methodology based on results and Sprint Retrospective

 

Job Requirements:

  • Ideally a profile of a GTB head of payments “product development” at a reputed regional bank with around 15 years of relevant experience covering:
  • product design and development with previous implementation experience
  • operational manuals
  • specification writing
  • risk management and controls
  • Intimate knowledge of client needs in Cash & Liquidity Management and the competitor landscape
  • Strong ability to interact with clients to understand, interpret and prioritize their needs
  • Strong understanding of market trends and developments in CM (technology advancements, digitization, disruptions etc.)
  • Prior work experience as a Product Owner or a similar role in an Agile Scrum environment is essential
  • Experience of working for / within Banking and Financial Services domain; either within a Bank or for a consulting / technology company / fintech is preferred
  • Knowledge of software development, web and fintech landscape, more specifically related to CM
  • Experience of working with vendors in building and implementing a digital solution in a multicounty set-up
  • Experience of working with cross functional project teams, being a team player is mandatory
  • Good understanding of industry trends and how it impacts the Product
  • Experience with executive communication, including identification and delineating critical issues and their resolution
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, however an MBA is preferred in related field.
  • Agile Scrum – Product Owner certification desired
