Fintech Operations Team Lead



We are looking for a talented and dedicated Operations Lead in noon’s Fintech team to provide support for day to day business operations with a proven ability to work with minimal supervision while managing core activities pertaining to merchant onboarding, payment queries, analytics, customer & merchant issues, internal and external stakeholder coordination, etc. You are interested in financial technology and innovation in the payments space and are looking for an opportunity to join a team of smart and passionate people, working on products that have large scope for disruption rooted in cutting edge technology.

The successful candidate will need to be an independent, high achieving individual, able to stand out in a fast paced technology environment, and able to manage a regional team. This role is an excellent opportunity to further improve existing knowledge and skills around payments and business operations within a team with wide ranging responsibilities.

  • Proactively streamline operations activities per market.
  • Investigate malfunctioning issues, recommend fixes and coordinate with relevant teams to implement changes. Improve operational performance and efficiency on a continuous basis.
  • Manage and set up projects for various processes on JIRA
  • Create operational processes through SOPS, documentations and manuals
  • Support other departments to ensure successful business activities as a whole
  • Set up and maintaining Zendesk system for different support verticals
  • Ensure platforms and workflows are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Should aim at being an expert regarding operations processes, procedures and policies for the given business vertical
  • Serve as the focal point for all information and communication on critical operational issues
  • Participate in ongoing projects around development of back end systems
  • Deal with merchant onboarding, payment queries, reporting, customer & merchant issues, etc.
  • Use strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of our systems to resolve queries with our customers in mind
  • Find automated solutions to streamline and enhance process efficiency
  • Act as a first level support for merchants queries
  • 7+ years of experience in payments operations, process improvement, or business operations in the financial services or FinTech industry, preferably across the MENA region
  • High ownership for all tasks at hand with keen eye for detail and robust problem solving abilities.
  • Process oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines whilst ensuring the work undertaken remains at a high standard.
  • Able to grasp complex and detailed concepts/tooling easily and quickly, simplifying them where needed
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively
  • Process driven – You understand processes intuitively, are highly organized, and are constantly on the lookout to improve the way you work, you love tweaking things
  • You communicate your actions and intentions clearly - verbally as well as in a written form Proactive
  • You have a proactive attitude towards problems
  • Highly motivated, you are a strong team player who is not afraid of pitching in and getting their hands dirty
  • Ability to wear many hats, with an I can do attitude
  • Strong aptitude for operations with a balance of process improvement and people management expertise
  • Ability to work in an accelerated environment with several projects simultaneously, in a dynamic and constantly evolving context
  • Analytically strong and ability to manage/learn data using MS Office /Excel or tools like Jira, Zendesk, Power BI among others
