Dubai-based payments company noqodi has partnered with Mastercard to allow consumers and businesses to make and accept contactless payments.
The partnership will see the integration of noqodi’s payments solutions with Mastercard Payment Gateway Services to allow customers to tap their card or device to make payments through a merchant’s phone.
noqodi was first launched in 2019 as a digital wallet to facilitate government service fee payments. Its parent company emaratech—which is part of the Investment Corporation of Dubai—handles over 50,000 transactions a day including the issuance of visas, national IDs, and other services across the UAE.
The partnership is in line with the Cashless Dubai Working Group’s vision to shift all payment transactions in the UAE to secure and easy-to-use cashless platforms across sectors.
Zahi Kallab, General Manager, noqodi, said:
“We are happy to enhance our collaboration with Mastercard and benefit from all the services provided by its payment gateway platform, including Tap on Phone, allowing us to have a seamless and unified customer experience across all our channels.”
J.K. Khalil, Cluster General Manager, MENA East, Mastercard, said:
“We are delighted to sign this strategic partnership with noqodi and deliver our innovative digital payment solutions at a UAE government level as we continue to diversify our offerings across non-traditional segments.”
