The inaugural Abu Dhabi Finance Week (ADFW) is taking place from 14 to 18 November with the participation of 500 high-level investors from around the world across 30 separate events.
The ADFW is organised by the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi government, UAE technology group G42, and Emirati-based telco Etisalat by e&.
The ADFW also witnessed the sixth edition of the Fintech Abu Dhabi Festival, the city’s flagship fintech festival, organised in partnership with First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB).
This year’s Fintech Abu Dhabi Festival focused on key challenges and opportunities in global payments, cybersecurity, credit and lending, Web3, and content consumption in the metaverse.
The festival witnessed the ADGM Courts announcement that it will be using blockchain technology to enforce commercial judgments, as well as the partnership between Wio Bank and ADGM.
The annual ADGM Innovation Challenge was also launched with the unveiling of this year’s challenge statements and an invitation to startups to apply and collaborate over the next eight weeks.
“This trailblazing introduction of blockchain technology for commercial courts underscores ADGM and ADGM Courts’ reputation as leaders in the digitisation of justice,”
said Linda Fitz-Alan, Registrar and CEO of ADGM Courts.
“Abu Dhabi Finance Week and Fintech Abu Dhabi are important platforms to identify and build strategic partnerships as well as to accelerate collaboration across the local, regional, and global financial industries,”
said Nivine Sbahieh, SVP & Head of Strategic Partnership at First Abu Dhabi Bank.
