The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has officially announced the second edition of the NBB Digital Banking Challenge in partnership with the Bahrain FinTech Bay.
The announcement was made during a signing ceremony at Fintech Forward 2024, where key representatives from both organizations gathered to formally launch the program.
Building on the success of the inaugural cohort, the NBB Digital Banking Challenge 2024 invites aspiring innovators aged 18 to 24 to develop sustainable banking solutions. The initiative provides attendees with the chance to win prize money, secure internships at the two entities, and benefit from a three-month incubation program at Bahrain FinTech Bay, where they can refine and scale their solutions under guidance from industry experts.
Commenting on the occasion, Razi Amin, Group Chief Technology Officer at NBB said,
“We are committed to supporting Bahrain’s youth as they channel their ingenuity to shape the future of banking. Through the NBB Digital Banking Challenge, we are fostering a culture of creativity and sustainability, while providing participants with the resources and mentorship they need to turn their concepts into reality. This initiative demonstrates our continued efforts in championing digital transformation, and we look forward to seeing the impactful solutions this cohort will deliver.”
For her part, Suzy Al Zeerah, Chief Operating Officer of Bahrain FinTech Bay added,
