BENEFIT has launched its Digital Direct Debit service via “Fawateer” through the BenefitPay app.
The service aims to provide a more efficient and secure method for managing recurring payments, supporting Bahrain’s ongoing digital payments transformation.
The initiative aligns with the Central Bank of Bahrain’s directives to reinforce the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub for digital payments and fintech innovation.
Digital Direct Debit replaces traditional paper-based procedures, allowing mandates to be activated instantly without manual processing.
It operates through secure digital channels using verified customer credentials, reducing fraud risks and administrative errors.
The service also automates authorisation and collection processes for beneficiary entities, lowering operational costs and supporting cash flow management through scheduled collections.
For users, it provides a straightforward payment experience and contributes to environmental sustainability through a fully paperless model.
The service uses an API-based interface connecting billing and invoicing systems with customer-facing apps, enabling seamless payment processes, automated reconciliation, and integration with Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
It also supports automation of accounting processes using ISO 20022, the international standard for exchanging financial data between institutions.
Abdulwahed AlJanahi, Chief Executive at BENEFIT, said:

“This initiative reflects BENEFIT’s ongoing drive to deliver innovative and secure solutions that respond to market needs and support the transition towards a digital economy. It also aligns with the Central Bank of Bahrain’s directives aimed at enhancing digital payments infrastructure, improving efficiency and transparency, and further reinforcing Bahrain’s standing as a leading centre for fintech innovation and excellence.”
