du is launching a US$50 million corporate venture fund named du Ventures to invest in companies across the region, with a specific focus on fintech, AI, and cybersecurity.
The fund is managed by multi-strategy investment firm Shorooq and targets startups developing market-ready solutions.
A significant portion of the capital is allocated to UAE-based ventures.
While the fund covers multiple technology sectors, its financial services focus includes fintech infrastructure, loyalty platforms, and enterprise solutions.
The initiative marks the telecom operator’s expansion into the broader digital investment space. It provides founders with capital alongside access to the company’s enterprise reach and infrastructure.

“Through this platform, we are investing in technologies and founders that align closely with our strategic priorities,”
said Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Executive Officer of du.
He added that combining the telecom provider’s scale with startup innovation aims to accelerate the commercialisation of emerging technologies.
Shorooq will prioritise investments that match the corporate strategy of du.

“We share a common belief that the region’s most promising startups deserve access to both capital and the strategic infrastructure that du can offer,”
said Mahmoud Adi, Founding Partner at Shorooq.
He noted that the partnership will help bridge the gap between innovation and scale for founders bringing new solutions to the market.
