The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has launched SME in a Box.
The platform offers founders a single entry point for essential business services, including licensing, banking, and digital payments.
By bringing together a network of trusted providers, the platform allows businesses to access a curated ecosystem of partners.
Founders can bypass the process of sourcing, comparing, and onboarding multiple vendors independently.
This consolidated approach helps eliminate friction from the setup phase, reducing administrative burdens and duplicated onboarding processes that often delay operations.
The platform provides access to partner offers that could unlock over AED 80,000 in potential value per business.
These savings come through discounted transaction rates, fee waivers, subsidised onboarding, reduced service charges, and preferential packages, depending on the specific solutions a business activates.
Emirati SME members can also access further preferential offers and enhanced onboarding support, a move aimed at encouraging national entrepreneurship.
In addition to cost reductions, founders using the platform to set up banking and payment solutions can save up to 200 hours typically spent managing vendor contracts and multiple onboarding requirements.
SME in a Box launches with 18 private sector partners, including Emirates NBD, Network International, Commercial Bank of Dubai, du, Crossval, Paymob, Ziina, Qashio, Bayzat, Mamo, Aramex, Tabby, Arab Financial Services (AFS), Revent, Ascentia, DHL, Maison, and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.
These partners offer dedicated SME packages and streamlined support.
Digital-first services like payments, logistics, and telecommunications can be activated in as little as 24 hours via automated eligibility verification.
More complex requirements, such as corporate banking and licensing approval, will follow standard regulatory processes but feature coordinated pre-validation to minimise delays.

“SMEs are the backbone of Dubai’s economy,”
said Ahmad Al Room Almheiri, CEO of Dubai SME, which is part of DET.
“Through direct consultation with founders, we understood that what they need most today is clarity, speed, and cost efficiency.”
He added that founders can now see what they are getting, how long it will take, and what it will cost before they begin.
The platform represents a shift from offering individual services to delivering a coordinated operating environment. It is built in partnership with the private sector.
The rollout will happen in phases, starting with core business enablement services. Future updates will introduce deeper digital integration and automated onboarding.
Over time, SME in a Box will integrate with the Invest in Dubai platform. This will create a unified digital entry point for business setup and operations.
Dubai Founders HQ will also integrate the platform. This will connect startups with investors and ecosystem partners under the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
This will provide businesses with access to mentorship, growth programmes, and strategic partnerships from setup through to the scaling stage.
