HSBC has expanded its digital money infrastructure by launching its Tokenised Deposit Service in the UAE to enable real-time treasury management for corporate clients.
The service allows eligible institutional businesses to execute 24/7 domestic and cross-border fund transfers instantly via blockchain rails.
The introduction of the service brings the UAE dirham into a digital asset network that already supports several major global currencies.
These include the euro, pound sterling, US dollar, Hong Kong dollar, and Singapore dollar.
According to the bank, the new system aims to bridge blockchain-enabled workflows with traditional payments infrastructure.
This setup allows corporate treasuries to transfer liquidity from central hubs to regional subsidiaries on an always-on basis.

“This launch marks another significant step in the future of money movement, and the UAE is uniquely positioned to lead this shift,”
said Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Chief Executive Officer of UAE at HSBC Bank Middle East.
He added that the local corporate market shows strong demand for more capable treasury tools.
The service is designed to improve visibility into cash positions and streamline working capital management.
By automating fund flows on-chain, the system cuts down on manual processing to enable straight-through processing for institutional operations.
The service is currently available to eligible corporate and institutional clients in the UAE. Access remains subject to regulatory approvals, documentation, and specific onboarding requirements.
