Wio Bank, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), has launched a digital share-backed financing product named Loan Against Investments.
The service allows UAE investors to access credit by using their ADX-listed share portfolios as collateral. It removes the need to sell their underlying holdings.
Accessible through the Wio Personal app, the product enables users to pledge eligible shares to Wio Bank as security. This arrangement lasts for the duration of the financing.
Customers retain all economic benefits, meaning dividends continue to accrue and any market appreciation remains theirs. Once the financing is fully repaid, the shares are returned to the portfolio.
According to the company, the offering marks the first fully digital experience of this nature in the region.
The partnership provides the regulated infrastructure for share pledging, enabling Wio Bank to complete the entire process, from collateral transfer to repayment, inside the app without paperwork or branch visits.
Expanding Wio Bank digital investments
The launch expands the platform’s broader investment suite, which spans stocks, exchange-traded funds, virtual assets, commodities, and fractional bonds.
By introducing asset-backed lending, the platform now gives individual users access to financial capabilities that institutional or private banking clients once reserved.

“This is the first time retail investors in the UAE can access a fully digital Loan Against Investments experience,”
said Jayesh Patel, CEO of Wio Bank PJSC.
“Access to liquidity without having to give up their investments came up again and again. This is our answer to that.”
The automated system evaluates funding based on the current market value of user holdings.
The ADX indicated it is collaborating with additional financial institutions to introduce similar financing solutions in the near future to deepen market liquidity.

“This new solution allows investors to unlock liquidity and access cash by using their listed shares as collateral, without needing to sell them,”
said Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group CEO of the ADX Group.
“It gives investors greater flexibility in managing their money, while staying invested and continuing to benefit from potential market gains.”
