Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) has launched UP by CBD, a mobile banking platform for micro and small businesses.
The app integrates directly with the Dubai Unified License to give early-stage entrepreneurs faster access to financial services and business credit.
Startups and new businesses in the UAE can use the platform for fast digital onboarding without branch visits.
The mobile bank removes minimum balance requirements by offering a zero-balance account with flexible subscription plans.
Businesses are also eligible for an instant business credit card upon licensing. This feature is designed to help founders manage early-stage cash flow and fund initial operations from the moment they register their company.
Beyond core banking, UP by CBD includes tools for payroll, transfers, and savings. The bank developed the platform in collaboration with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
This partnership aims to connect entrepreneurs to wider ecosystem support, such as Dubai Founders HQ and the SME in a Box initiative. The integration aligns with the broader goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.

“UP by CBD signals our long-term commitment to supporting business owners at every stage of their journey, helping them move more quickly from business setup to operation,”
said Dr. Bernd van Linder, Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Bank of Dubai.
