Julius Baer has named Jean Pierre Dib and Philipp Kleinschnittger as Co-Heads Middle East & Africa. They took up the roles on 12 October 2026.
Dib is based in Dubai and Kleinschnittger in Zurich. Both report to Rahul Malhotra, Head of Region Emerging Markets.
They succeed Régis Burger, the market’s previous head. Burger moves to a newly created role as COO, Region Emerging Markets.
However, he stays on as CEO and Senior Executive Officer of Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd. He also keeps regulatory oversight of this Dubai entity.
The co-heads will lead the bank’s client offer and strategy in the region.
This links offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Manama and Johannesburg with teams in Zurich, Geneva and London.
Dib has spent over 20 years in senior private banking. He was most recently Senior Client Partner in Dubai.
For over a decade, he has helped the bank win and manage clients across the Gulf and beyond. He has advised the ultra-wealthy, entrepreneurs and family offices.
Kleinschnittger has over 20 years in global banking. He joined Julius Baer in 2016 and later became Head Middle East & Africa Switzerland, UK & South Africa. He also chaired Julius Baer South Africa.

“The Middle East continues to see significant wealth creation, particularly across the GCC, making it a highly strategic growth market for Julius Baer,”
said Malhotra.
