MongoDB, a US-based database company, has announced plans to expand its presence in the Middle East following five years of growth in the region.
The company aims to increase engagement with customers and organisations while providing local support for modernisation and innovation projects.
MongoDB plans to more than double its regional workforce this year, focusing on roles in sales, solutions architecture, channel partnerships, and customer success.
This expansion follows the company’s steady growth in the Middle East and North Africa since its regional launch in 2019.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia have set ambitious goals to become global leaders in AI and advanced technology.
With 88% of organisations in these regions already investing in AI, there is significant demand for data-driven solutions.
MongoDB’s data platform supports organisations in sectors such as government, aviation, and logistics.
The company provides technology for applications including facial recognition at airports, monitoring road traffic, and tracking cargo at major ports.
Boris Bialek, Vice President and Field Chief Technology Officer, Industry Solutions at MongoDB, commented:

“The UAE and Saudi are fast becoming major hubs for innovation, digital transformation, and AI-driven customer experience. It’s an exciting time for the region, and we’re proud to be helping to play a role in supporting this growth. By expanding further into the market, we will be part of the region’s digital transformation journey.”
Additionally, MongoDB has entered a strategic partnership with Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (PJSC).
The collaboration aims to accelerate digital transformation and enable organisations to develop AI-powered solutions.
