StashAway, a digital investment platform, has introduced its Shariah Global Portfolio in the UAE.
The portfolios, available across four risk levels, are Shariah-compliant and globally diversified, with historical annual returns of up to 13.7% over the past five years.
They are designed to allow investors to grow their wealth in a manner consistent with their values.
The launch comes amid a growing interest among affluent individuals in the UAE for digital-first investment solutions that combine returns with ethical considerations.
Globally, Islamic finance assets are expected to reach US$7.5 trillion by 2028. In the UAE, this trend is reflected in the fact that over 75% of the population are Muslim.
Raaed Sheibani, UAE Country Manager at StashAway, said:

“Shariah-compliant investing is still relatively new in the digital investing space and we’re excited to change that with our Shariah Global Portfolio. Our goal is simple: to give people a simple, intelligent way to grow their wealth while staying true to their beliefs. As a Muslim, I’m honoured to support others in investing with confidence through portfolios that are Shariah-compliant, globally diversified and built on data.”
Values-based investing has demonstrated competitive long-term performance.
Major Shariah equity indices, including the S&P 500 Shariah Index and the Dow Jones Islamic Market World Index, have outperformed their conventional counterparts over the past decade.
For example, the Shariah S&P 500 Index has increased approximately fourfold over the past ten years, compared with around 3.6 times growth for the conventional S&P 500 Index (S&P Global, as of 30 June 2025).
StashAway’s Shariah Global Portfolio has recorded five-year annualised historical returns ranging from 7% to 13.7%, depending on the selected risk level.
The portfolios are suitable for both new and experienced investors and aim to provide diversification without unnecessary complexity.
They are built using low-cost Shariah-compliant ETFs, offering exposure to global equities, sukuk, and gold, including high-growth sectors such as global technology and emerging markets.
Portfolios are professionally managed and dynamically re-optimised by StashAway, seeking to maximise returns across economic cycles while maintaining the chosen risk level.
The underlying holdings are certified Shariah-compliant by their issuers or fund managers.
The launch of the Shariah Global Portfolio adds to StashAway’s wider suite of investment and cash management solutions, which are designed around transparency.
The portfolio follows the same management fee structure as other StashAway offerings, ranging from 0.2% to 0.8% per annum, with no lock-ins or minimum investment.
Integration with Lean allows clients to set up recurring investments within minutes, facilitating long-term wealth building.
