Mashreq has launched its full-service digital retail bank in Pakistan, Mashreq Bank Pakistan, in Islamabad, in the presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
This is the first full-scale international deployment of Mashreq’s digital banking platform outside the UAE.
Mashreq Bank Pakistan will provide fully Shariah-compliant digital banking services, powered by mobile-first technology and paperless processes.
Over the next five to ten years, the bank aims to support digital transformation, financial inclusion, innovation, job creation, and sustainable development.
Chairman Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair said:

“For the UAE, Pakistan remains a natural partner, linked through trade, remittances, and shared regional stability objectives. Pakistan is a story of resilience and sustained ambition, and we’re here because the future is promising, and we want to help build it.”
Key offerings will include Mashreq NEO for individuals and Mashreq NEOBiz for SMEs, delivering 24/7 mobile banking, paperless onboarding, zero-fee ATM withdrawals, AI-driven risk management, and free debit cards.
Overseas Pakistanis in the UAE will also be able to open accounts and remit funds seamlessly.
Mashreq has committed a total of US$100 million by 2025 to support its Pakistan operations through the digital bank and its Global Capability Centre, Mashreq Global Network (MGN).
MGN Pakistan currently employs more than 415 professionals and plans to double its workforce.
