Emirates NBD – Egypt has introduced Apple Pay, enabling customers to make payments without physically handling cards, touching buttons, or exchanging cash.
Customers hold an iPhone or Apple Watch near a payment terminal to use Apple Pay. Apple Pay authenticates each transaction with Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode and generates a one-time dynamic security code.
Merchants accept Apple Pay at grocery stores, pharmacies, taxis, restaurants, retail outlets, and more.
Customers can also use Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad, and Mac to make purchases in apps or on the web without creating accounts or repeatedly entering billing information.
“Apple Pay makes it easier to pay for food and grocery deliveries, online shopping, transportation, and parking, among other things,”
the bank said.
Apple Pay keeps security and privacy central.
The device does not store actual card numbers, nor does Apple servers; instead, it assigns a unique Device Account Number, encrypts it, and stores it securely in the device’s Secure Element.
Setting up Apple Pay is straightforward. On iPhone, customers open the Wallet app, tap +, and follow the steps to add Emirates NBD credit or debit cards.
Once added, Apple Pay can be used on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac immediately. Customers retain all rewards and benefits associated with their cards.
The launch includes a 50% cashback offer for all Emirates NBD cardholders.
