Changer.ae has signed a MoU with DeScript Labs to develop digital asset settlement and merchant technology solutions in the UAE.
The partnership creates a framework to combine the regulated custody capabilities of Changer.ae with the merchant infrastructure of DeScript Labs.
The initiative focuses on creating compliant pathways for businesses to accept digital assets from customers while receiving final settlement in fiat currency, such as the AED.
By converting digital assets into fiat currency, the proposed model aims to help merchants reduce exposure to cryptocurrency volatility. It also aims to expand their payment options.
The companies expect the solution to be relevant across high-value sectors in the UAE. These include real estate, automotive, and luxury retail.
In these segments, local and international clients frequently seek alternative transaction methods using digital assets.
Under the proposed framework, Changer.ae will manage the underlying custody, conversion, and regulatory compliance infrastructure.
DeScript Labs will supply the merchant technology application, including its PayTheFly solution. This will enable a familiar fiat settlement experience for traditional storefronts and enterprises.
The collaboration will also explore commercial clearing solutions for corporate entities. This would allow corporate partners to convert digital assets into fiat currency.
The parties intend for the service to support treasury operations, improve settlement efficiency, and facilitate compliant transaction flows between digital asset holders and traditional corporate networks.
Changer.ae operates under the regulation of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) in ADGM.
The company holds licences to provide custody services, arrange deals in investments, and deal in investments as an agent for both retail and professional clients.
DeScript Labs specialises in digital asset settlement infrastructure, focusing on scalable tools for commercial enterprises.
As part of the agreement, both companies will establish a joint working group to assess technical integration, operational needs, and regulatory alignment.
