Lean Technologies and Ziina have launched a one-tap pay by bank feature in the UAE.
The open finance integration lets users link their bank accounts once for future wallet top-ups, bypassing credential re-entry and separate bank portal redirects.
Built on Lean’s deposit infrastructure, the feature marks a shift in the local account-to-account payments market.
Previous pay by bank options in the country typically required users to authorise every single transaction individually.

“Pay by bank has been live in the UAE for some time, but until now, it has only been available as single instant payments,”
said Omar Hamada, VP of Sales at Lean.
Hamada noted that the new infrastructure can support recurring, low-effort payment experiences.
Talal Toukan, Co-Founder and Head of Engineering at Ziina, said the company wanted to make funding digital wallets faster.

“Working with Lean, we have been able to reduce friction in a way that makes managing and moving money feel more effortless for our users,”
Toukan said.
The companies announced the integration at an industry event hosted by Lean, which gathered over 150 executives from the banking and fintech sectors to discuss account-to-account payments.
