Flutterwave has secured a strategic investment from Circle Ventures to expand stablecoin infrastructure across its platform.
The capital will support the integration of USDC settlement capabilities directly into existing merchant payment workflows, enabling near-instant settlement beyond traditional banking hours.
The development follows Flutterwave’s participation in the launch of the Circle Payments Network in 2025.
By integrating USDC, the dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Circle, the fintech firm aims to strengthen stablecoin adoption. It seeks to establish stablecoins as critical financial infrastructure for payments across Africa.

“This support from Circle Ventures is about backing the rails that will power the next era of global money movement from Africa,”
said Olugbenga Agboola, Founder and CEO of Flutterwave.
He added that embedding USDC allows businesses to move money at the speed of the internet, positioning the firm as the default stablecoin gateway for the continent.
The integration operates within a compliance-first framework designed to align with existing regulatory requirements and enterprise operating standards.
This multi-rail system allows merchants to choose between fiat currencies, cards, bank transfers, and stablecoins based on transaction costs and speed.
Global stablecoin circulation currently exceeds US$300 billion, with Africa representing one of the fastest-growing markets for adoption.
By broadening its settlement options, the platform gives businesses greater flexibility. They can select the most reliable payment rail based on their operational needs.
