Saudi Arabia-based PayTabs Group has agreed to acquire Amazon Payment Services’ operations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in a deal valued at more than US$100 million, as covered by IBS Intelligence.
Both parties have approved the transaction, which will see Amazon Payment Services‘ MENA operations integrated into PayTabs’ platform, expanding the company’s scale, processing capabilities and market presence across the region.
The deal would cement PayTabs’ position as the largest MENA payments infrastructure provider, with proprietary end-to-end solutions spanning payment processing, automated switching and payouts on a single platform, according to Zawya.
PayTabs has spent years building banking partnerships, securing regulatory licences and investing in AI-driven payment infrastructure to support businesses across regional markets.
Following the transaction, the combined business will process more than SAR 150 billion, roughly US$40 billion, in transactions annually, Arab Finance and WAYA reported.
PayTabs said customer and operational continuity will remain a key focus during the integration process, with minimal disruption anticipated, and expects the combined business to offer faster merchant onboarding and stronger local compliance capabilities.
The deal comes amid growing demand for localised payment infrastructure and digital commerce solutions across MENA, driving increased consolidation among both regional fintech firms and global payments providers.
In the UAE specifically, PayTabs has not announced any changes to merchant services as part of the acquisition, according to tbreak.
