Sinder, the UAE fintech building a simpler way for consumers to spend, send and manage money internationally, has surpassed AED 1 million in cumulative customer deposits just 2.5 months after launch.
The milestone comes as Sinder reaches approximately 750 customer sign-ups, with 500 accounts issued and around 250 customers already actively transacting through the platform.
The early traction marks an important step for the company as it moves from initial product launch into the second phase of its roadmap.
Sinder initially launched with a focus on removing the complexity and excessive cost associated with spending money abroad, including its Zero-FX debit card proposition. The company is now beginning Phase 2 of its product roadmap, significantly expanding the functionality available to customers.
By the end of 2026, Sinder plans to introduce a range of new payment and money movement capabilities, including local payments, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, international remittance and peer-to-peer transfers.

“Crossing AED 1 million in deposits this early is a meaningful milestone for us, but what is more important is seeing customers actually use Sinder,”
said Christopher Hughes, Founder and CEO of Sinder.
“We now have around 250 customers transacting, and that gives us growing confidence that we are solving a real problem for people in the UAE.”
“The first phase was about proving that we could launch the product and get customers using it. Phase 2 is about turning Sinder into a much broader everyday financial platform – allowing customers to spend internationally, make local payments, send money abroad and transfer money to each other from one simple app.”
Sinder’s strategy is to build a locally tailored financial product around the needs of internationally minded consumers, beginning in the UAE and progressively adding the functionality required to make the platform useful both at home and abroad.
The company is also moving to complete its pre-seed financing round, targeting approximately US$1 million in total funding over the coming months. The additional capital will be used to support product development, customer growth and the next stage of Sinder’s expansion.
Chris Hughes added:
“We have deliberately stayed lean while getting the fundamentals of the product and infrastructure in place. With customer activity increasing and the next phase of the platform now underway, the capital we are raising gives us the ability to accelerate from here while remaining disciplined about how we grow.”
The company sees the coming months as a transition from proving its initial proposition to expanding Sinder into a more complete consumer financial platform, with a particular focus on payments, international money movement and travel.
