Google Wallet, including its Pay feature, is now available in Nigeria for Android and Wear OS users.
The service lets users make digital payments with their Android phones and Wear OS devices.
To use Google Pay, users first add supported cards from participating financial institutions to the app.
Once a card is added, they can make contactless payments in stores through the Tap to pay feature, as well as within apps and online.
Beyond payments, Google Wallet stores items such as loyalty cards, event tickets and boarding passes. All of these are kept in one place on the user’s device.
According to the company, Google Pay uses multiple layers of security and industry-standard encryption to protect financial data in every transaction.
If a phone is lost or stolen, users can lock it remotely with the Find My Device service.
Users can also set a new password or erase personal information through the same service.
The Google Wallet app is available for download on the Google Play Store.
