Fortinet has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aramco to support secure and resilient industrial systems in Saudi Arabia.
Under the MoU, the two companies will explore ways to work together on operational technology (OT), which covers the systems that run industrial plants and equipment.
Possible areas of cooperation include localisation and cybersecurity talent development.
As part of the agreement, they intend to explore opportunities in cybersecurity research and development.
This would involve sharing knowledge, best practices and technologies to address new challenges.
Both firms will also look at adapting cybersecurity solutions to the specific needs of industrial sectors.
In addition, they plan to assess whether Fortinet Cloud services could be deployed in Saudi Arabia.
On the skills side, the MoU outlines possible bootcamps, workshops and other targeted training programmes.
It also mentions access to Fortinet platforms for education and training, along with ongoing discussions on cybersecurity threats and best practices.

“Through this MoU with Aramco, we look forward to exploring how our cybersecurity expertise can support more secure and resilient industrial environments in Saudi Arabia, while contributing to the development of local cybersecurity skills and capabilities,”
said Joe Sarno, Executive Vice President of International Sales at Fortinet.
