First Abu Dhabi Bank Taps Microsoft Azure to Accelerate Digital Shift

The United Arab Emirates’ First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) has announced a strategic partnership with Core42, a subsidiary of G42 specialising in AI solutions, to facilitate the transfer of its data center operations to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

This move is part of FAB’s broader initiative towards digital transformation, aiming to enhance the efficiency and intelligence of its services across various sectors, including retail, corporate, SME, investment banking, risk management, and finance.

The collaboration will utilise Microsoft Azure’s advanced cloud and AI technologies, marking a continuation of FAB’s efforts to integrate Azure’s analytics and AI solutions into its operations. This is expected to improve customer service and operational effectiveness throughout the region.

Moreover, the partnership allows FAB to utilise Core42’s platform developed on Microsoft Azure, ensuring data sovereignty in compliance with UAE’s regulatory standards. It also provides the bank with access to innovative cloud and AI solutions available through Azure.

FAB, along with Core42 and Microsoft, is also focusing on innovations in generative AI, advanced analytics, and other AI-related fields through a dedicated Centre of Excellence.

The goal is to embed AI technology across all aspects of the bank’s operations to add value and enhance the banking experience for its customers.
