Snowflake has made its AI Data Cloud generally available on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Middle East (UAE) Region.
The expansion allows customers to access local, secure, and AI-ready data environments. It supports reduced latency, improves performance, and helps meet data residency requirements.
The UAE has prioritised AI as a driver of economic growth through its National AI Strategy 2031. The strategy focuses on talent development, innovation, and digital infrastructure.
Snowflake’s deployment on AWS in the UAE addresses demand for governed data environments that facilitate AI adoption across industries.

“The combination of secure local infrastructure, strong governance controls, and AI-ready performance is essential as the UAE moves to turn its national AI goals into long-term value,”
said Tareq Masoud, Country Manager, UAE, Snowflake.
“Our collaboration with AWS strengthens that foundation by giving local organisations a way to modernise data platforms, build trusted AI systems, and generate value from their data at scale.”
Snowflake and AWS have expanded their partnership, with Snowflake doubling its AWS Marketplace transaction growth year-on-year to exceed US$2 billion globally.
Through AWS Marketplace, customers can more easily access Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud and its integrations with AWS services.
The platforms now support greater interoperability. Catalog Federation allows customers to access Iceberg-format data managed by Snowflake directly through AWS Glue Data Catalog, reducing duplication and associated costs.
Catalog-linked databases allow Snowflake-centric customers to link databases directly to AWS Glue Data Catalog without creating individual externally managed tables.
This setup enables automatic discovery and synchronisation while simplifying governance.
These updates aim to support enterprises in scaling AI and data initiatives securely and efficiently within the region.
