Advent has opened an office in ADGM, the international financial centre of Abu Dhabi.
The private equity firm will use the office as a local base to work with investors in the Middle East, support its existing portfolio companies and explore potential investment opportunities in the region.
According to Advent, the new office builds on its relationships across the Middle East.
Mehdi Iraqi, who joined the firm in January 2026 as Managing Director for Limited Partner Services, will lead the Abu Dhabi team.
He has almost two decades of experience covering institutional investors in the region, including previous roles at AMG and Carlyle.

“As a global business, having colleagues based locally enables us to be closer to the institutions and long-term partners that support our work,”
said James Brocklebank, Managing Partner and Co-Chair of the Global Executive Committee at Advent.

“Having spent much of my career working with institutional investors across the region, I’m looking forward to building on those relationships from Abu Dhabi,”
said Mehdi Iraqi, Managing Director for Limited Partner Services at Advent.
Advent opened an office in Sydney in July 2024 to cover Australia and New Zealand. A Tokyo office followed in January 2026.
Earlier this year, the firm also strengthened its presence in Hong Kong. The city serves as Advent’s regional base for working with investors in Asia Pacific.
Advent has invested in Asia Pacific for more than 30 years. With the new Abu Dhabi office, the firm now has 18 offices in 15 countries.
