CrediMax is working with Mastercard to explore agentic commerce for merchants in Bahrain.
The first phase will focus on Mastercard’s Agent Suite for Merchants. This tool adds AI shopping agents to a store’s own website.
Shoppers can use these agents at each step of a purchase. An agent can help them find a product, pay for it and get support after the sale.
The work will run on Mastercard Merchant Cloud. It gives merchants payment, fraud, security and data tools in one place. Mastercard Gateway will handle the payments.
Both firms said CrediMax is among the first in Bahrain to work with Mastercard on this type of AI shopping.

“As AI agents become part of the purchasing journey, our priority is to help merchants respond with confidence and turn emerging opportunities into business growth,”
said Andrew Hocking, Chief Executive Officer at CrediMax.

“Our collaboration with CrediMax allows us to align our proposition with the operational needs and commercial priorities of local businesses in the Kingdom,”
said Saud Swar, Country Manager for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan and Other Levant at Mastercard.
Mastercard set out how its Agent Pay system works. Each AI agent gets a digital ID so it can be checked and approved. It must then act within the rules the shopper has set.
Agents pay with agentic tokens, which keep each payment within the shopper’s limits. The tokens also show shoppers which agent made a purchase and where.
The two firms said the work could serve as a model for merchants, payment providers and financial firms in the region. It may later grow to cover more uses and markets.
