Send App by Flutterwave has introduced the Send App Travel Card, a physical Naira card for Nigerians in the diaspora returning home for the festive period.
Developed with technology partner Odysy and powered by AfriGO, Nigeria’s national domestic card scheme, the card aims to address common payment issues faced by travellers.
Many Nigerians visiting home each December encounter cash limits, fluctuating exchange rates, and foreign card acceptance failures.
The Travel Card reduces these challenges by letting users abroad pre-order the card, pay for it within the Send App, receive it before travelling, and use it immediately at POS terminals, ATMs, and contactless points across the country.
Users can fund the card directly with their UK, US, or EU cards through the Send App remittance platform.
In Nigeria, Send App operates under Flutterwave Tech Payment Limited’s approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as an International Money Transfer Operator (IMTO).
This approval ensures the service complies with the regulatory framework for inbound remittances.
According to Send App, the Travel Card supports the platform’s aim of improving financial access for the diaspora.
It provides a practical tool for spending while in Nigeria.
Commenting on the launch, Harvey Bahia, Head of Send App Business at Flutterwave, said:

“The Travel Card is a major step forward for Send App. For years, we’ve helped Nigerians abroad support life at home through fast, reliable remittances. Now, for the first time, we’re giving them a physical way to spend with the same ease and control when they return.”
The card is ready within 24 hours of ordering, with same-day delivery available in Lagos and Abuja for orders placed before 4 p.m. Users can lock, freeze, or replace their cards directly in the app.
