Network International has enabled Apple Pay acceptance for four Egyptian banks by providing card tokenisation for Apple smartphones, supporting the country’s digital transformation efforts.
The rollout is part of the third wave of the Central Bank of Egypt’s tokenisation license programme and marks a key development in the nation’s digital payment ecosystem.
Network said that supporting all four bank launches within the same wave demonstrates the reliability and capability of its processing platform and local delivery teams.
Dr Reda Helal, Group Managing Director – Processing, Africa & Co-Head Group Processing at Network International, said:

“Delivering multiple simultaneous implementations demonstrates our local teams’ expertise and the robustness of our processing platform. We are grateful to the Central Bank of Egypt and the participating banks for their trust and partnership as we continue to help accelerate secure and scalable digital payments across Egypt.”
The launch aligns with Network’s ongoing operations in Egypt, where it serves 160+ banks across Africa and 65+ in the Middle East.
In 2023, the company invested EGP 1 billion to expand its operations in the country.
