Qatar has launched Doha Investment, a new platform to manage Qatar Investment Authority‘s domestic portfolio.
The platform includes more than 40 companies operating in over 80 markets, among them QNB Group, Qatar Airways Group and Ooredoo Group.
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani chairs Doha Investment. He announced the platform at the Qatar Economic Forum in New York.

“It will support our strongest companies, help emerging businesses grow, deepen capital markets and attract international capital and expertise to contribute to this effort,”
he said.
Doha Investment’s portfolio spans financial services, transport and logistics, telecommunications and technology, real estate, hospitality, and food and agriculture.
The platform also plans to build new companies in advanced technologies, manufacturing, supply chain and healthcare. These include Qai, a national artificial intelligence platform.

“At the same time, we will partner with local and international investors to build the next generation of Qatari national champions, bringing together capital, expertise and technology in the sectors where Qatar has the potential to lead,”
said H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry and Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Doha Investment.
Qatar expects the platform to support job creation, strengthen local supply chains and develop domestic talent, while a larger pool of high-value companies is expected to help deepen the country’s capital markets.
Doha Investment supports Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy, which aims to make the private sector a primary engine of a diversified economy.
