Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) now offers 24/7 real-time transfers in Egyptian pounds (EGP) to accounts in Egypt through Visa Direct. Customers start each payment from the ADIB Mobile App.
Funds then reach eligible bank accounts in real time. This also applies outside normal banking hours, including weekends and public holidays.
According to ADIB, Egypt is one of the main remittance routes from the UAE. In addition, the bank said these transfers help families in Egypt meet their daily needs.
The service is designed for customers who send funds to family, friends and others in Egypt.
Besides bank accounts, it supports real-time transfers to eligible cards and digital wallets in the country.
This launch is part of the wider rollout of ADIB Remit, a cross-border transfer service the bank introduced with Visa.
Remit runs on Visa Direct, a global network for moving money, and customers use it through the app.
With this network, ADIB customers can send funds to more than 18 billion eligible cards, wallets and accounts worldwide.
The bank said the Egypt service shows how it is using this global reach on key transfer routes.
